Kayla Jackson, author of Conscious Serving, has spent the majority of her life in Casper, Wyoming, where she earned her degree as a registered nurse, got married, had two children, and became a lifelong learner of the art of servanthood. From an early age, Kayla spent time serving at the local homeless shelter, helped raise money to free trafficked women while in junior high, and in high school traveled to Uganda and Honduras, which ultimately solidified her decision to become a nurse. Serving others as a nurse, a mom, wife, neighbor, and community member – led her to a deep understanding that God will use each and every one of us, as we are, in order to serve him and those around us.
Kyree Chambers is the author of the foreword for Conscious Serving. Kyree was born, raised, and currently resides in Casper, Wyoming with her husband. She obtained her bachelor’s degrees in elementary education and special education and spent many years in the classroom and as the Director of a preschool. She now spends her time teaching and walking beside educators who face increasing demands and challenging behaviors in their own classrooms. Kyree also is an active member of her church where she is currently on the Board of Missions. Throughout her life she has served locally and internationally, most recently serving others along the “El Camino de Santiago” in Spain, by literally walking alongside and spending time with those along the trail. Kyree has been a constant source of inspiration for Kayla as a true model of living out the life of a conscious servant, making her the perfect person to write the foreword for this book.
